Palworld Hartalis Guide: Summon the ULTRAKILL Boss With an 800-Power Skill That Beats Jetragon’s DPS

Quick Start — how to get Hartalis:

  • Reach character level 33 to unlock the Summoning Altar.
  • Farm 4x Hartalis Slab Fragments from cave/dungeon chests or Pal Expedition Station rewards — the Crystalized Tunnel entrance (-947, -1318) and the Feybreak/Sakurajima dungeons are the best-known drop spots.
  • Combine the fragments into a Hartalis Slab at a High Quality Workbench.
  • Build a Summoning Altar and place the Slab on it.
  • Bring Electric-type Pals for Phase 1 and Dark-type Pals for Phase 2 (see below).
  • Come in around level 65 — Hartalis hits for 909,000 HP and punishes underleveled squads.
  • Win to hatch a Huge Common Egg — that egg is the only way to actually own a Hartalis.

Hartalis Isn’t Actually New — Here’s What It Really Is

If you searched for this guide expecting Palworld 1.0’s newest addition, that’s not quite right, and it’s worth correcting before anything else. Hartalis, the King of Salvation, was added on December 17, 2025 in the Home Sweet Home update (version 0.7.0) — the same patch that brought the ULTRAKILL crossover armor and the Marksman Revolver [1]. That’s roughly seven months before Palworld 1.0 launched on July 10, 2026 with its own wave of 72 new Pals, a list Hartalis doesn’t appear on. What IS new is how relevant Hartalis becomes post-1.0: the level cap rose to 85, Work Suitability got rescaled to a 1-10 system, and a level-65 raid boss that was punishing in Early Access is now a mid-game stepping stone for most active players.

Hartalis is a Neutral-element Pal with a Water/Grass first phase during its raid fight only — the tamed version you actually own is pure Neutral [1]. Two sources disagree on the raid’s level: BisectHosting and GamerFuzion both list Level 65 for the standard fight, while AllThings. How’s roster table lists Level 70 [2][6][7]. Game8’s dedicated boss-fight breakdown independently confirms Level 65 for both the standard (909,000 HP) and Ultra (1,212,000 HP) versions [8], so that’s the number this guide uses — verify your own encounter in-game before assuming either figure.

Spawning Conditions: Summoning Altar, Slab Fragments, and Level Gates

Hartalis cannot be found wandering the overworld, and there’s no Alpha version roaming a fixed coordinate the way Anubis or Necromus can be — it exists only as a self-summoned raid encounter [1][2]. One community wiki page lists it as “catchable in the wild, capture rate x1,” but that contradicts five independent sources (the official wiki, Game8, BisectHosting, GamerFuzion, and AllThings. How), all of which describe raid-only summoning with no overworld spawn. Treat the wild-catch listing as a stale template value, not a real spawn path.

To actually trigger the fight, you need three things stacked in order:

RequirementDetail
Character levelLv32-33 to unlock the Summoning Altar (sources split on the exact number, both agree it’s early-to-mid game) [2][6][7]
Hartalis SlabCrafted at a High Quality Workbench from 4x Hartalis Slab Fragments
Fragment sourceRandom drops from cave/dungeon chests and Pal Expedition Station rewards; best-known concentration is the Crystalized Tunnel entrance (-947, -1318), plus Feybreak and Sakurajima dungeons [2][6]
Altar build costCheap — stone and Paldium, plus 3 Ancient Technology Points at Tech Lv33 [7]

The altar itself is consumed once Hartalis spawns, so budget for a fresh Slab every attempt — there’s no fixed arena you can just walk back into.

The Raid Fight: Two Phases, Two Elemental Answers

Hartalis fights in two distinct phases that punish a single-element team composition:

  • Phase 1 (Water/Grass): Hartalis throws up barriers that only Electric (some sources add Fire) attacks break quickly. Failing to break a barrier in time triggers an area explosion, so bring dedicated Electric DPS — Orserk and multiple Gobfin are the most-cited picks [2][8].
  • Phase 2 (Neutral): Hartalis heals to full and switches element entirely. Its barriers now only crack to Dark damage — Necromus and Frostallion Noct show up across every guide as the go-to Phase 2 answers [2][8].

Between phases, watch for spawning crystals that precede an AoE shockwave — breaking line of sight behind them is the difference between a clean fight and a wipe [8]. Multiplayer materially improves your odds here, since one player can dedicate their whole loadout to breaking barriers while the rest maintain DPS. Win and you get a Huge Common Egg (your only path to owning Hartalis), Ancient Civilization Cores, Training Crystals, and assorted Lotus fruit; the Ultra difficulty additionally drops the Crown of Salvation accessory [2][8].

Work Viability: Should You Ranch It?

Once hatched, Hartalis carries Work Suitability of Lv7 in both Gathering and Lumbering, with 0 in every other work type [1][3][4]. On Palworld 1.0’s rescaled 1-10 Work Suitability system — the same rescale that quietly invalidated a lot of pre-1.0 base-building advice, as we found while researching our coal farming guide — Lv7 sits in solidly upper-middle territory. That’s enough to noticeably speed up a base’s wood and crop income if you’re slotting Hartalis alongside dedicated gatherers, but it’s a two-trick Pal: it contributes nothing to mining, handiwork, transporting, or any other base job. If your base already has a Lv7+ Gathering/Lumbering specialist covered (see our best worker Pals guide), Hartalis doesn’t add anything new to your roster — it’s a fine backup, not a reason to farm the raid.

Combat Viability: The DPS Math Nobody’s Published

This is where Hartalis earns a second look. Its full moveset, cross-checked against paldb.cc’s dedicated skill table after an earlier fetch from the official wiki briefly returned mismatched power values for two of these moves [1][5]:

SkillLevelPowerCooldownPower/sec
Power Shot1804s20.0
Power Bomb71208s15.0
Holy Burst1570030s23.3
Radiant Barrage2270030s23.3
Divine Wing3070030s23.3
Sacred Rain4080030s26.7
Purifying Light50250100s2.5

Run the same power-over-cooldown math our best combat Pals breakdown used, and Sacred Rain’s 26.7 power/sec beats every sustained figure in that piece — including Jetragon’s Meteorain (700 power/30s CD = 23.3 power/sec) and Necromus’s corrected Dark Laser figure (450 power/20s CD = 22.5 power/sec). That doesn’t automatically make Hartalis a better pick than either — Jetragon’s mobility and Necromus’s Dark typing solve different problems — but on raw sustained power-per-second, a leveled Hartalis is the best number we’ve calculated for any Pal on this site so far.

The catch is getting there: Sacred Rain doesn’t unlock until level 40, and a hatched Hartalis starts from Lv1. You’ll need to actively level it through combat or EXP feeding before that DPS ceiling means anything. Its Partner Skill, Sacred Barrier, is arguably more useful sooner — a mounted barrier that blocks incoming attacks entirely, with a cooldown that starts at 150 seconds and shrinks to roughly 30 seconds as the skill ranks up [4][5]. That’s a genuine survivability tool for early exploration, well before Sacred Rain comes online. Its Savior passive also adds +30% Neutral and +30% Grass damage, which stacks cleanly if you’re already building a Neutral-type squad via our passive skills guide.

Work vs. Combat: The Verdict

Your situationRecommendation
Base already has a Lv7+ Gathering/Lumbering PalSkip ranching Hartalis — no upgrade over what you likely have
Want a mount with a defensive panic buttonUse Sacred Barrier early; it’s useful long before Sacred Rain unlocks
Building a Neutral-element combat squad, willing to grind to Lv40Worth it — Sacred Rain’s 26.7 power/sec is the highest sustained figure calculated on this site
Just want the raid rewards (Ancient Civilization Cores, Training Crystals)Farm the fight once or twice; don’t bother leveling the resulting Pal past what your base needs

Who Should Actually Farm This

Player typePriority
New playerSkip for now — Lv32+ altar access and a 909,000 HP fight are well past early-game priorities. Focus on your starter base first.
Casual playerFarm the fight once for the egg and raid loot, then move on. Don’t invest in leveling Hartalis to 40 unless you’re already deep into Palworld’s endgame.
Hardcore/optimizerLevel to 40 for Sacred Rain — the power/sec math genuinely earns a roster slot, especially in a Neutral-focused squad.
CompletionistFarm both standard and Ultra difficulty for the Crown of Salvation accessory and the full loot table.

FAQ

Is Hartalis actually the newest Pal in Palworld?

No — it’s been in the game since the December 2025 Home Sweet Home update, roughly seven months before 1.0 launched [1][6]. If a guide frames Hartalis as a fresh 1.0 addition, that’s a factual error worth double-checking before you trust the rest of its content.

Can I catch a wild Hartalis without summoning it?

No. Despite one wiki page listing it as wild-catchable, five independent sources agree Hartalis only exists as a self-triggered raid encounter, and the Huge Common Egg from beating it is the sole route to owning one [1][2][3].

Is Hartalis worth summoning if I already run Jetragon or Necromus?

For pure sustained power-per-second, yes — Sacred Rain’s 26.7 power/sec edges out both. But Jetragon’s mobility utility and Necromus’s Dark-type coverage solve different roster problems, so this isn’t a straight replacement; it’s a third option for squads that lean Neutral-element.

What’s the fastest way to farm Hartalis Slab Fragments?

Prioritize chests at the Crystalized Tunnel entrance (-947, -1318) and runs through Feybreak or Sakurajima dungeons — both are the most-cited concentrated sources, though fragments remain a random chest drop rather than a guaranteed one [2][6].

Should I use Hartalis for base work or combat?

Its Lv7 Gathering/Lumbering is solid but not exceptional on the rescaled 1-10 system — skip ranching it if your base already has a dedicated specialist covered. Combat is where the post-Lv40 numbers actually stand out.

Verified against Palworld 1.0 (build 1.100.427, July 10, 2026). Hartalis mechanics unchanged since its v0.7.0 introduction (December 17, 2025) — always double-check summoning and skill values in-game, as raid encounters are a common target for balance patches.
