If your sorting system already runs on hopper lines, a copper golem won’t out-perform it — hoppers move items every game tick, a golem moves up to 16 every few seconds at best. The golem earns its place when you don’t want to build a redstone sorter at all, or when you’re early-game and haven’t unlocked efficient hopper farming yet.

Can I stop a copper golem from ever turning into a statue?
